Open House in the Haus des Hörens on October 28, 2005
For the second time, the Haus des Hörens will open its doors to the public. This day will not only offer guests tours through modern office and laboratory rooms, but also countless demonstrations with chances for interested visitors to participate. The Haus des Hörens Society will organize musical entertainment in the acoustics simulator. In this unique room, acoustic parameters such as reverberation or perceived room size can be widely varied by just the press of a button. This allows concerts to sound as if they were taking place in the Vienna Opera House, the Cologne Cathederal or even Oldenburg's main railway station, the Hauptbahnhof.
Furthermore, informative speeches and slide shows will deliver insight into how hearing research developed in Oldenburg as well as into its current state.
"We would like to raise awareness for hearing in everyday life and thereby contribute to improving the acceptance of and hearing devices," reports Corinna Pelz, PR spokeswoman from the HörTech Center of Compentence."After the rush of visitors three years ago, we certainly hope we will experience similar interest this time." You, too, have the chance to experience the Haus des Hörens on October 28, 2005. |
