The Center of Competence
for Hearing Aid System Technology – HörTech gGmbH – in Oldenburg, Germany,
is a leading non-profit research institute in the field of audiological and
acoustical developments related to hearing systems. HörTech is involved in numerous
national and international projects regarding the (further) development of
hearing aid system technology as well as associated products. For a national research
project, we are seeking a qualified and motivated
Research
Associate (f/m)
(audio
signal processing, physics, communications engineering, or similar)
with established
experience in scientific research to join our research and development team at
the earliest date possible. For the time being, the position is limited to the
runtime of the project, i.e., until 2014-08-31, but could possibly be turned
into a permanent position in case of favorable developments in this field of
work. The opportunity to undertake a doctoral research at the Oldenburg University
is provided.
Your field of work
You will
participate in a national funded project related to hearing aid technology. In
particular, you will be concerned with the further development of a software
platform for hearing aid algorithms ("Master Hearing Aid") and the
development of novel hearing aid algorithms. Another focus can be the
co-development of auditory models for perceptual speech and audio quality
estimation. The project work requires intensive communication and collaboration
across team members and external project partners. Active participation in the
planning and acquisition of further projects will be part of your job profile.
Your profile
You have a master
or higher university degree in computer science, electrical or communications engineering,
physics or a related discipline. For the project work, excellent expertise and
experience in the development and implementation of digital audio signal
processing algorithms as well as in C++ programming are required. Knowledge in
MATLAB programming and psychoacoustics/hearing research is desired. The
ideal candidate should be fluent in either German or English. Good English
language skills are required. Basic German language skills or the willingness
to acquire these are desired.
